Join a two-week intensive Kalaripayattu workshop led by Vinod Gurukkal in Puthanvelikkara, Ernakulam, Kerala, by the banks of the Periyar River from December 4 to December 17. Kalaripayattu, rooted in ancient Indian traditions, is a dynamic martial art featuring a blend of striking, kicks, and weaponry, emphasizing both combat prowess and holistic well-being. Vinod Gurukkal, an experienced practitioner, specializes in Northern Style Kalaripayattu and welcomes both beginners and movement artists. Beginners can explore the basics of this art form, while movement artists can enhance their body awareness and flexibility. The picturesque village of Puthanvelikkara offers a serene setting with opportunities for walking, cycling, and water activities, making it an ideal location for this unique training experience. The fee is inclusive of classes only ( morning and evening sessions for 14 days) Accommodation: There are a small number of homestays and resorts in the village and across the river within walking distance.
